10 Mistakes All of Us Keep Making Before Our Flight

Flying can be a stressful experience for many people. Some people adhere to a strict timetable in order to stay ahead of the game. This method isn't always sufficient because we have a tendency to overlook minor details. Do you know what you should never do before flying? Here are a few things to avoid.

1. Not Checking-In Online

Most airlines overbook their flights, and passengers are occasionally denied boarding. You can virtually guarantee your arrival at the airport for your trip if you use online check-in options. Another important reason for this minor annoyance is that you get to choose your seat and are sometimes promised quick boarding.

2. Organise Your Papers In A Tiny Bag

Keeping important documents in a small bag may appear to be a good idea, but there are several issues with this. Consider this: because your backpack is so large, you'll almost certainly find it if you misplace it at the airport. A smaller bag is less noticeable, and an opportunistic thief will have an easier time hiding if they do.

3. Having To Pay For Overweight Luggage

You can always weigh your luggage at home, or you can avoid packing items that are already available at the airport. A bottle of shampoo, shaving gel, and deodorant can weigh up to 2.5 pounds, depending on size. If you had to pay for that extra weight, it would cost three times as much as buying new ones.

4. Not Checking The Seat Plan

It's critical to know which seats you're in, as well as which ones are closest to exits and away from stinky restrooms. There are websites that will show you which seats have the most leg room and are closest to a power outlet. This may not seem like a big deal to many people, but you don't want to be imprisoned in a confined space for several hours.

5. Wrapping Your Suitcase

To add an extra layer of protection, many passengers wrap their suitcases in plastic wrap. This method is harmful to the environment and inconvenient for the passengers. Assume you're all set to check in, but your passport is still in your carefully packed bag. You'll have no choice but to tear the plastic film, gather your documents, and throw it away. It is better to invest in a high-quality lock for security, or use a reusable cover to keep your luggage clean.

6. Going To The First Security Check-Points

Many people rush to the first checkpoints, which are usually crowded. They have been waiting in line for hours, while other checkpoints are empty. The main reason for this is that the last checkpoints do not have a queue, leading passengers to believe that they are closed. Other passengers prefer not to walk all the way to the end of the line to go through security, which causes delays.

7. Keeping Liquids In Their Carry-On

Because people tend to bring more than 3 ounces of liquid in their carry on, security personnel tend to throw things like perfumes, shampoos, and hair products away. Other times, people believe they can transport less than 3 Fl oz in a larger container, but this is also not permitted. Because there is no quick way to determine how much liquid is in that container, security will have to dispose of it. So, the next time you travel, double-check the amount of liquids you're bringing.

8. Relaxing After Going Through Security

Most airports have massive duty-free shops; some are so large that you won't be able to go through them even if you have two hours to spare. Many flights are delayed because passengers continue to wander around, believing they have plenty of time. As a result, time is lost, causing delays for those flying in and out of the airport.

9. Trying Unusual Dishes Before Boarding

You never know how your stomach will react to trying a new cuisine or food, and doing so right before a flight is a no-no. Furthermore, because of the lower cabin pressure, you are twice as likely to develop indigestion while flying, making you feel bloated. Indigestion is caused by the fact that the air pressure in a plane's cabin is lower than at sea level, causing the gas inside to expand. Some foods that can help you with this include potatoes, turmeric, and pineapple.

10. Ditching The Anti-Bacterial Wipes

The airport is one of the most contagious places on the planet. Even the trays you use to go through security have more germs than a public restroom. Having some anti-bacterial wipes and sanitizer on hand to protect yourself can literally save your life.
